Staff
Chrissy Petersen
CEO
Chrissy brings over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, driven by a deep belief that young people deserve honest information, trusted adults, and opportunities to thrive. Her work has consistently centered on youth development, education, and the well-being of families. Prior to joining LifeSmart Youth, Chrissy led impactful initiatives at a community center, where she partnered closely with schools and community leaders to remove barriers to learning and support whole-child development. As CEO, she is passionate about building authentic, collaborative relationships with school partners and district leadership to ensure students receive education that empowers them to make informed, healthy choices.
Nikki Sullivan
Director of Health Education Programs & Training
Nikki comes to LifeSmart Youth with a decade of experience in public programming, education and non-profit project management. Nikki received her BA in Art History and Psychology from Franklin College and her MA in Art Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a founding member of the Indianapolis Art Center’s DEI committee, Nikki brings this experience to LSY and remains dedicated to amplifying the voices of underserved and underrepresented audiences as well as committed to a pedagogical approach and leadership style that believes not in creating for but creating with.
Waylon O’Donnell
Director of Development
Waylon joined LifeSmart Youth in the fall of 2025 and brings a heart for mission-driven work and meaningful connection. With experience in nonprofit development, marketing, and donor communications, he enjoys helping people understand how their support makes a real difference. Waylon has led fundraising efforts, shared impact stories, and supported communication strategies that highlight the work happening behind the scenes. At LifeSmart Youth, he oversees development and marketing, focusing on building strong relationships with supporters and sharing the value of health education for Indiana youth. His work helps ensure programs are supported today and sustained for the future.
