Meet the LifeSmart Leadership and Administrative Team

We are proud to have a staff and board who dedicate themselves to our mission of fostering successful lives by empowering youth to make responsible choices and adopt healthy behaviors.

Staff

Tammie Carter

Chief Executive Officer

Tammie began her career in the corporate sector at Duke Energy where she worked in Employee Relations Safety & Training, Community Affairs, Public Strategies, and Supplier Diversity roles. The last 15 years of her career have been spent in the not-for-profit sector, having served as Sr. Vice President of Public Strategies for The Indy Chamber and President & CEO of TeenWorks. Tammie is also a small business owner of Accent Interior Designs. Tammie has served on numerous boards including The Indianapolis Urban League, The Mayor’s Crime Prevention Taskforce, Tangram, Indiana INTERNnet, The Indianapolis Legal Foundation, and The Indianapolis Cultural Trail. Tammie has been recognized for her accomplishments by the YMCA, National Council of 100 Black Women, and the Governor of Ohio for her work in Supplier Diversity.

Andrea Corey

Director of Development & Marketing

Andrea has dedicated her career to furthering the work of non-profits.  With over 15 years’ experience, she specializes in development and marketing efforts to build meaningful partnerships between individuals, organizations, and corporations. She began her early career in Atlanta, Georgia running bike and walk-a-thons for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, later moving into large event sponsorship and spokesperson work for Stone Mountain Park under Silver Dollar City. After moving to Indiana, she joined Fortune Academy, a private not-for-profit school serving youth with learning disabilities as Director of Development. Later, Andrea worked as a private consultant to various organizations in need of strategic planning, event, & sponsorship support.  Andrea is excited bring her passion and skillset to LifeSmart Youth to encourage Indiana youth to make healthy choices and lead happy lives.

Nikki Sullivan

Director of Health Education Programs & Training

Nikki comes to LifeSmart Youth with a decade of experience in public programming, education and non-profit project management.  Nikki received her BA in Art History and Psychology from Franklin College and her MA in Art Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a founding member of the Indianapolis Art Center’s DEI committee, Nikki brings this experience to LSY and remains dedicated to amplifying the voices of underserved and underrepresented audiences as well as committed to a pedagogical approach and leadership style that believes not in creating for but creating with.

Kori Mattisz

Manager of Programs & Client Relations

Kori’s roots in the nonprofit world began at the Indianapolis Art Center where she also found her love for office management—work that revolves around some of her favorite things, including organization, creative problem solving, and learning loads of information. She continued her administrative career in the for-profit sector, but as an Indiana native, she later felt compelled to return to work that had a more meaningful local impact, bringing her to LifeSmart Youth. She is excited to apply her expertise and creativity to better serve Indiana’s youth population.
