Like our school partners across the state of Indiana, LifeSmart Youth Health Educators and Administrative Staff have been busy adapting curriculum for the online classroom. Zoom meetings have been a staple on our educators’ calendars since March, and they have been working hard to master that platform and other tech for successful virtual teaching.
Recognizing the different needs of our school partners across the state, our educators have learned the ins and outs of Zoom and Google Meet and mastered tech troubleshooting problems with microphones, speakers, cameras, and screen sharing. Most importantly, they have spent countless hours modifying student activities to fit the virtual format. For example, polling is used to answer questions, as well as hand signals to assess engagement.
LifeSmart Youth Health Educators are prepared to adapt to the changes this school year will bring, from switching between tech platforms to changing up activities, we are prepared to support our students in this unique virtual classroom space. The learning curve has been steep, and we are so proud of all the work our team has done to make this school year a success!
